Visually impaired individuals have limitations in obtaining visual information, which often causes difficulties in mobility and recognizing surrounding environmental conditions. This study aims to design and develop a smart blind stick based on camera and GPS with Telegram notifications as an Internet of Things (IoT) system. The system is designed using ESP32-WROOM-DA as the main microcontroller, HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensors for obstacle detection, a buzzer as sound output, a Neo-6M GPS module for location tracking, and ESP32-CAM for capturing surrounding environmental images. The system works by detecting obstacles around the user and providing sound warnings through the buzzer. In addition, families or users can request location and image information through the Telegram application using an internet connection. The location is sent in the form of Google Maps coordinates, while the camera captures images in non-real-time mode and sends them through Telegram. The test results show that the ultrasonic sensors are capable of detecting objects properly at certain distances, the GPS module successfully sends location information, and the ESP32-CAM can send images when connected to the internet. Therefore, the designed system can help improve safety, mobility convenience, and remote monitoring for visually impaired users.
